Players from the carolinas

POOL GAMBLING WAS SO BIG IN THE CAROLINAS BACK IN THE 80s and 90s,SO LETS HERE THE STORIES.

Back when Al Sealey owned Brass Tap in Raleigh (80's - early 90's), the Tap always had an Open Tournament the week following the US Open. In 1992 or maybe 1993 Keith McCready shows up for the tournament. One afternoon Keith gets a one-pocket game with a local black guy. The guy Keith is going to play is an exact look alike of "RERUN" from the 70's show "What's Happening”. They were playing a small ahead set, 3 ahead for around a nickel. However the barking between them two was priceless. There was around 40 people watching this and we were all in pain from laughing so hard. Keith was saying stuff like "Hey ReRun!, I got hundred if you shows us that dance of yours..." , "Hey ReRun!, shot another stupid shoot like that and there going to change your name to ReDog". The crap Keith came up with on the fly was just amazing.

I have a bunch of stories, so if you want more let me know.

By all means!

(1992) Dennis Hatch played a local shortstop from greensboro 9-Ball, 8 ahead with 6k in the middle. Dennis giving the Break and call 3 n out to shortstop on a tight GC. Shortstop gets up 6 ahead fairly quickly, hour later dennis is taking money off the light and laughing.

Would like to have been there to see that!
