Playing condition variations

As this tournament is an exercise for personal reference I think it is important to discuss playing condition variations that can affect a players score from one year to another. Pocket size and table size are easily measured and just one very general factor in the comparison of playing conditions. One year has passed since the first contest and conditions may have changed considerably for many players, not only those that are competing on different tables but the same table can play significantly different this year compared to last year. Cloth condition (wear and humidity variation just to name two factors) play a huge factor in this sort of contest. Just a slight variation in the texture of the cloth can cause tight pockets to reject balls this year that were easily accepted last year. The better the quality of the equipment the more sensitive it will be to slight variations. These are important variables to be aware of as we gauge our personal experience and compare this years performance to last. Ultimately their can only be one judge, but we can learn from each others experience. I’m curious what you folks think.
