Playing in Tournaments

I just got word that the ladies will not be granted waivers for any pro events in the future which would include the DCC and most likely Reno. This is not good.

It just goes to show the mentality of people in charge. They think it's better to seperate them. They have no clue how much positive press they get when the girls play in the open events. The bad part is the girls also enjoy playing the guys. Why is it people in charge always forget about the Freedom of choice part. On the pool table there are no genders, there's pool players. How do they expect men and women to respect each others capabilities when they can't face each other on the table of honor.
Didn't we go thru this back in the 70's in tennis.

Mike- Im not 100% sure but i think you will be ok in the Joss. It may not be considered a "pro" tour for the present.

I have to agree with you that the courts are likely to rule in favor of the players in this case, but im not sure it's a lock. Plus that could take a lot of time and money and I'm not sure who would take up the cause as long as the ladies are still allowed to play on the regional tours.

Afterall the women cant play in the US open anyway and the UPA is for all practical purposes out. It's really only the large independent events that that we are talking about at present and they are few.

Kelly and Val are probably ok for the time being under any circumstances as they have not signed the Player Contract yet I dont think.

But still, I dont like the direction we are heading in here.
