Playing without glasses

Went and had my eyes checked last wed and needed a new perscription, so naturally they had to keep my frames. I dig out a old pair ,about 3-4 year old, play terrible on thursday league.
Anyway I go down to the basement sunday to hit some balls around and after five minutes decide to try without glasses. I've worn glasses for about 45 years so this is'nt commen for me,but i could see as good if not better than wearing old pair, cueball was crystal clear, longer shots were a bit blurry but no worse than with the glasses.
The weird part is i am moving with more of a flow and playing a little faster than normal, so i played mon league without glases and played pretty good, don't know what I'll do when new glasses come in. Anybody had similar experiences?

Are your current frames made for playing pool? I see people, even experienced players, playing with what are just their everyday glasses and I don't know how they do it. When I had glasses made for pool (Special frames and script) it was unbelievable.

Best investment I ever made in my game for more important then even my over priced cue. Oddly enough, even many serious players will just not spend the money on dedicated Pool Glasses. I can't figure that out. ??????

When my eyes went and I had to start wearing readers, I went to the eye doctor and got contacts for work also ordered a special pair of contacts with the prescription of everything in focus from 2 ft to 15ft.

I could never play well with glasses so I played without even though the balls got fuzzy.
Then about 7 years ago I had Lasik and it resolved all those issues.

You want to share your prescription? Do you know if you're near sighted, far sighted or have astigmatism? You also mentioned you have been wearing glasses for 45 years. When people reach their early to mid forties, they start needing reading glasses, bi-focals as the lens in the eyes don't have the range of focus. This could work for some people who were previously far sighted. You may be in that category.

For many people who can switch between contacts and glasses, they usually find a wider view with contacts.

They are not made for pool but do tend to have a bigger upper lens. Pick up my new lenses tonight, we'll see...lol.

It's like you're suddenly in a dark room, you hear everything, you smell everything, you
can feel when you're near an object, every other sense becomes heightened because you
can't see, but I suspect you'll be happy to get the glasses back when you do.

order a back-up pair of glasses

Kinda like that but like i said my pace of play has even picked up and feel more energized, kinda like Twilight zone stuff. Dew De Dew De.

Originally for distance, so i believe thats nearsighted, have had bi-focals for around ten years, but up until last year or two could read up close( paper, book) without anything, now i use cheaters when reading.
