Here's one I did recently, with permission from Barry.
edit:
Added the JP photo. This was actually the 53rd cue I made. It was originally a Plain Jane Amboyna Burl cue. It was sent back to make some upgrades. Since it was already to size, to do the butt sleeve, I had to carefully cut it into 3 sections, being careful not to cut any more than what the veneers would fill up. Each piece as carefully marked so that the grain would be realigned properly. It still contains the original Ivory Butt Cap, but it was easier for me to just replace the Ivory Joint, since I was also changing the ringwork in the cue. The only ring that was really a challenge was the A Joint ring, but it wasn't all that difficult to get a new ring in there without cutting the cue into extra pieces.
I posted these photos before of this Cue that a buddies who bought it thinking it was a BALABUSHKA, he offered it for sale to one guy who's expert said it was a COPY.
The eventual buyer who bought it had another expert who thought it was the REAL DEAL.
Any way enjoy the photos. As I can not say it is REAL or TRIBUTE.
No longer have this one, but figured some might enjoy seeing another of Steve Klein's work. Got Steve working on another atm. It will have a John Davis full splice blank, can't wait

I got to play one afternoon with it, it was better than good. I know the OWNER CHANGE the Original Butt Cap, (DUMB) but like I said my buddy sold it, and I think the new owner restored it to original.
This is one of my favorite Richard Blacks I own and designed. A little Balabushka inspired idea of mine in some way or another. Down to the original cortland linen wrap Richard has had for 30+ years.. Matches the money green veneers perfectly!
This was from the customers drawing, but I guess maybe he got the inspiration from something that fits in here. Either one of Georges or an old Palmer. I'm really not sure. I don't think I've ever posted it up here.
