Pocket accommodations

I finally sprung for a worsted cloth and some rubber pockets. But my rails don't want to fit them. They have a little bump-out countersink-kinda thing for the securing screw/nail.

So I took a forstner bit and bored out holes in either side of each rail and secured with a short wood screw. Problem is, most aren't deep enough for the protrusion coming off the pocket to sit in and mess with rail configuration, with the side pockets being the most egregious.

I planned on just taking my forstner bit and boring my holes deeper, but I got curious... is there a better way? Or am I on the right track?

Also, don't pick apart my cover job. It's only my second time and my first with a worsted cloth obviously.

**edit** if someone can guide me on how to upload pictures, please do so, but as of now, I can't get any file to load

You are using the wrong drop pockets for your table. The pockets you are trying to make work are designed to be screwed into the metal castings they were made for.

I've done the conversion. I also used a forstner bit. Though I drilled the hole out and installed a threaded insert, so that the pocket could be installed as intended, with a socket head cap screw.

Here is a link to the finished product (though I do wish that I had trimmed the pockets a bit cleaner):
