Pocket dimension

I just recovered my table. It is 8ft 3 pice slate table with no name on it. I and was told it is most likely a generic Asian import. When setting the rails back on I measured the corner pocket openings and I am getting 4 1/8 on one and 4 1/4 on the others.if I place two balls in the pocket at the points they will not fit, so I believe my measurement is correct. I have read some articles on table difficulty factor but have not taken the other measurements to figure that out yet. With the rails still somewhat loose I cannot seem to open up the openings at all. Is there a way increase the dimension to say 4 1/2? Just looking for a fun table for friends snd family to enjoy playing on.
Thanks.
Ed.

Are the side pocket openings equal?

Need thinner facings to open the pockets. You can't do it with the rails already covered. Just do it nxt time you recover.

I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe ONE of those facings is different from the rest. I.E... one of them in that pocket is 1/4" and the other is 1/8"? That would make the 1/8" difference. I've seen it when recovering a bar table one time.
