Pocket problems

I'm asking for help for someone else. Here's his problem.
Both my side pockets and one corner pocket have a high frequency of the ball hitting the back leather liner and popping back out on to the table... The ball does not physically go down into the pocket, then bounce up and come out. This happens most often when I am playing low-English to get a strait draw.
Any suggestions?

Raise the back of the pockets.

If you have a table with leather drop pockets, that problem is sometimes caused by the back on the pocket being too low in relation to the playing surface. If you can get to the bolts that hold the pocket irons in place to loosen them then lift up on the back of the pocket iron and retighten them... that may solve the problem. It might help if we knew more about what make and model table your asking about.
