Pocket treatment, '20's BBC?

Looking for pix of coherent 1920's style BBC pocket treatments for ball return pockets.
Can't say i have seen every photo in their history library, but have spent hours there over the past few years.
AFAICT, all the photos show either 3c tables, or drop pocket style. Despite "patent improved ball return" or "lightning pocket tubular ball return" being a big feature in every catalog after it was introduced.

I have seen one picture somewhere of a very clean, tight installation but of course neglected to copy it.

Pix below are what i hope to avoid. (From ebay, no intent to insult anyone, either)
Fairly hideous on this style table, to my mind. (even if original???)

Is it correct to assume that the same #6 pocket irons will be used whether drop or ball return?
If there was a nice, clean visual of something below the top surface/at the blinds that better matched the style of the table, i can make it. Even metal options.
Just can't seem to come up with a good image of what it should look like.

Thanks!

It would help to see Your table, and the structure of the irons you have for it, if any? Your problem seems to be symmetry, rather than mechanical functionality. The ability to adapt a suitable configuration to your particular table, depends on what one can visualize and accomplish with a modification to the iron itself, IF you fail to come up with an existing, available iron? Necessity is the mother of invention, and you sound pretty capable of being able to fabricate it! How the corners of the table come together at the pockets, and how the iron fits into that space will dictate just how much modification is doable? For instance, my first question to myself would be, is it possible to pilot the bottom of the iron, and dowel a custom piece of something ( wooden, leather, etc) that would conform to the configuration of the corners in a more pleasing manner to the eye? Secondly, could i attach to (part of) the existing leather skirt? If the answer is no, then you might be stuck with what is readily available. Interesting dilemma
