Pocket Undercut

Can someone tell me what the shape of the inside faces of a pocket should be? Is there a specific angle for the undercut? The guys at Diamond mentioned 17 degrees as the undercut on a Diamond Pro. I've seen faces straight up and down with no undercut. Can that be correct? Thanks in advance for the information.

there should be some down angle, generally between 12 and 15 deg. The deeper the shelf the more down angle you want.
