Point Alignment

I imagine to get points to the same length exactly the V grooves have to be the exact same depth and the point pieces perfectly flat with the sides of the V groove. Am I correct in thinking that or
is there more to it. I'm sure we've all seen points where the edges are kind of wavy and others look as straight as a razor with the tips of the points at the same lenght. How do you guys do that so perfectly. Thanks for any advise.

As Long as the channels are cut to the exact same depth on a good centered prong the points should come out to equal length. If when the handle is attached to the prong and is not perfectly straight the points will come out to different lengths but this can be corrected by bumping the cue a little. If the prong was not perfectly centered or the channels cut to different depths then the points can never be aligned unless a pencil or such thing is utilized for a touch up.
