so i could use another jump/break, i have a Sledgehammer now, but wanted something a little newer, for the up-n coming league season, my price range is about the $200 range.

so I narrowed it down to either the Poison vx jump/break or Mcdermott Stinger...

what do you guys think? My main concern is power and parking the cueball. Jumping would come thrid as I do also have my bunjee.

I like the Mcdermott waranty, and heard good things about the Poison, and I know both jump/breaks have Phenolic tips, but I don't play BCA leagues.

Im really happy with my stinger. It jumps with ease, and it always breaks solid with good cue ball control.

Both are very good choices for a relatively inexpensive dual purpose cue. I'd still be using the McD Stinger if I hadn't gone to two separate cues (but Luke seems to like my old Stinger ;) ). Guess it comes down to liking the Poison rubber grip or not.....

as far as parking the rock on the break - you could always put a Samsara or superpro (or any really hard leather) tip on it for more cueball control (not that the phenolic can't be figured out, a little practice and it's easy to control too, just have to hit it a bit more accurately).

I use a Poison..and like it very well..the only problem i had was

with the one black rubber strip that came undone..not a serious

issue but i did have to take it off and used a magic marker to blacken

in the line..breaks great..i have used a A Preditor Bk and cant tell no

difference..the rubber grip is real nice and clingy..alot of power for

a light weight break cue..SA
