Polish for table with decals

I have a Gold Crown Tournament Edition with the decals. I am concerned about staining the decals or damaging the adhesive when polishing the aprons. Can anyone tell me of a polish (or wax or oil) that will do a good job on the wood without screwing up the decals?

I asked Brunswick this question and their reply was, "Our Quality Department recommends any good spray furniture polish, sprayed onto a cloth only, then applied to the aprons. Do NOT spray directly onto the aprons or decals, avoiding loosening the glue holding the decals in place."

To which I can only reply, "Duh."

Thanks,
Howard

I have always used a soft cotton detail towel to wipe down the rails and aprons. Plus my GC light. If the rails are really messy, (fingerprints and such) then I take the towel and spray some Endust on it and wipe down the rails. Then I'll use the same towel to go over the aprons and wipe out the ball holder tracks. I have had the table set up for six years and it still looks good. And yes, it does have the decals on it.

I agree with the use of Endust. It does not contain wax which some furniture polishes do.

Thanks much, BooBoo. I'll get some Endust. That's just what I was looking for: someone to say. "I have used this and it didn't screw up the decals."

Good point, gsm1sw. Thanks.

And dontlitethat, you shouldn't have lit that. :grin-square:

I have used about every kind of furniture polish out there and I have a ton of almost full cans on a shelf because I didn't like them for one reason or another. This summer I discovered "the one"! It's a polish called Guardsman. I use it on all of my showroom tables and it does great without streaking and smearing. I also use it on my Olhausen Grand Champion with decals and it seems to be doing great. Takes off chalk and hand prints real nicely. Guardsman is a little hard to find. I get it at a local hardware store. I'm trying to get a contact to buy it wholesale and offer it on my website.

Yeah, that's it. Item #300101 is what I use. It's great and even smells nice too. Their other products are probably great too though I haven't tried them yet. Well worth the money!
