Pool and billiards seems to be doing well in Seoul

Visiting Seoul with the family. Seems to be a billiards and/or pool joint every 3 blocks.

Pretty cool.

same here in Shanghai... certainly no shortage of pool halls

Trying to avoid racial stereotyping... but I think this is due to a lack of interest in bars/pubs amongst the majority of the population - they look for other forms of entertainment in the evening

The 'problem' is that there is no atmosphere in these places - people generally don't interact with strangers, they just turn up, shoot pool and go home. It can be a bit boring...

Just my thoughts..

Your right!

I travel all the time and Pool is doing just fine everywhere but here in the states???? They seem to have more respect for the game then we do and the players are far more respectable...,

I spent 3 1/2 years stationed in S. Korea, and could still kick myself for never ssetting fott in a pool hall there. Of course,I wasn't sure how popular pocket billiards would be in those halls.I knew three cushion is the most popular game there. So when I wanted to play, I played in a bar box in one of the bars right off base.I'd love to take a couple cues with me if/when I ever go to Korea again...

not that good here in P.I. no major tourney set for 2013 :sorry:
