Anybody had any experience using any of the phone apps for pool? Which ones do you like? Also tell us the ones you dont like and why? I am looking for apps that hook up to ones phone and analyze shots. Thanks.

DigiCue analyzes your stroke and DigiBall analyzes your tip accuracy but neither analyze the actual shot. Plus they both require hardware. www.digicue.net

Drillroom.ai looks promising for some statistical performance stuff but I don’t know about individual shot details. Maybe Railbird.ai is its successor.

People have already started working on Apple Watch apps that analyze your stroke. There are pros and cons to this compared to putting a sensor directly in your cue.
Also there are expensive systems that track your entire shot with path details, like mywebsport https://www.mywebsport.com/sites/default/files/videos/carom_intro_hd_web.mp4

So in conclusion the current technology needs a high performance sensor somewhere in addition to your phone if you want to analyze dynamics as opposed to statistics.

Hope this helps!

You may be interested in the Pool Shot Analyzer. It's a small Java app that runs on Windows machines. You drag/drop the cue ball and object ball around on table and choose the target pocket. It then shows you a LOT of information about the shot, you can see what it provides on the images below. PM me if you want a copy of the app, it's quite free.
