Hello,

in snooker, you often see the referee cleaning the cueball. Before the ball is taken off the table, the position of the cueball is marked with a special tool so it can be precisely respotted after the ball is cleaned.

Does anyone know where you can buy a similar device for marking a pool ball position, since pool balls are slightly larger than snooker balls?

they sell a clear plastic one on EBAY.
 
All you need is a wedge-shape thingy to contact the lower part of a ball at two points. How about trying to build one with LEGO?
