Pool Drinking Games

I've only played this with beer, it would kill you to do shots of hard alcohol! Here are the rules:

- Everytime you take a shot, take a drink
- If you scratch, take another drink
- If you sink somebody else's ball, take two extra drinks
- If somebody else sinks one of their balls, take a drink
- Sink the eightball before (not on the last shot), finish whatever you have
- If you loose, other than sinking the eight ball, take three drinks

You keep playing another round until everybody is to sloshed to play anymore, if you're really bad like me, it doesn't take that long.

To make the game a little more interesting, it is easily turned into "Strip Pool". The rules are:

- If you scratch it costs you a piece of clothing
- Sink somebody else's ball, it costs you a piece of clothing
- Loose the game, it costs you two pieces of clothing
- Bathroom breaks cost you a piece too

This is a great game after a round or two of the other game..

Shot Pool
Instructions

You will need:

* 1 pool table, with necessary cues, balls etc
* 2 players
* Optional referee/spectators
* 7 shots Cuervo Gold
* 7 shots Smirnoff Red
* 1 treble Smirnoff Black
* 1 White Lady/Russian

Play pool as normal, only for every red ball potted, down a shot of Red, for every yellow a Gold, etc. The White drink should be refilled as required. Winner may drink the Black or force his opponent to do so.

Rules on fouls, penalties etc should be negotiated beforehand - standby beers are often a good idea, to drink as a forfeit or while waiting your turn. Any spirit drink may be substituted to match tastes/different sets of balls etc. The game can be played with pints of beer, but is seldom completed...

Here's another

I don't know any pool drinking games but I know what is fun:

1. get drunk or very drunk.
2. play 9-ball scotch doubles with small stakes like $5 and/or a beer/shooter per rack.
3. everyone shoots one-handed.

Doesn't matter if there's a world champion or a short-stop or a B- player involved. This is the total handicapping system.

Sorry, gettin' all drunked up ain't as cool as it may seem.

Eh, nobody said it was cool, but pool is, and it's my 21st so I thought I might attempt to combine the two :rolleyes: (It's not like I've never drank before, just never at the pool hall LoL)

This is how I play when playing "Beer Pool". lol. For every ball you pocket legally, your opponent takes a swig (a little more than a shot's worth). When you miss, you take a swig, and two for every foul. The loser also has to finish the winner's beer. (Works better for 8-ball than 9-ball.)

One bit of advice. Go out, have a good time, but leave your good cue(s) at home. Many bad things could happen to it.

Read my mind, I was going to post the exact same thing.
And the first drinking game, I was going to write that same dang thing.
just play for shots.

My advice would be to play your best game that you can and drink at your own pace. Just being there at the hall and having a few beers on your 21st should be a lot of fun in and of itself. Make sure to have some alka-seltzer on hand for the morning after.

I always drink when I play pool and I know this is one of the greatest reasons my game will never really be what it could be. So I would suggest that if you really want to stay at the top of your game or improve it, to try not to associate the game with drinking as I do. I just go out to hit balls and sometimes play alright but for me a beer and a table in front of me is as good as life gets. Thats the extent of my pool ambitions. All I am saying I guess is the reason I drink when I play is because it is simply what I always have done and this is a pretty easy pattern to develop if the place serves booze.

Have a great 21st and many more.

Ryan
