Pool halls in Frankfurt, Germany

Hi,

I'm moving to Frankfurt in two weeks and I need some info on pool halls in the city. I lived there for a couple of months and I found a decent place in Bornheim. Other than that, I found only a couple of tables in bars and bowling alleys which I didn't really like. If anyone knows other halls with full size tables or is willing to ask for one on German pool forums (I don't speak German unfortunately), please let me know. Also, if anyone's living in the city and wants to play an occasional game, I'd be glad to pay the table time and a glass of JTS Brown

One other thing. I see people from Germany buying and trading cues from the States. How do the custom services treat those cues and what import tax should I expect to pay if I would order a custom cue from US?

Thanks, I'll follow the thread on German forum. I know about the Billard-Treff pool hall, that's the one in Bornheim I visited. It's a nice place with reasonable prices. I googled the other suggested place, but it's far from the city. It's a pity since they seem to have Dynamic tables I'm used to playing.

Hi BGhost,
I am a member at the club "PBC Frankfurt 1981" which has it's tables in Frankfurt Bornheim.
Actually we've got about 45 members (and always search for more).
The monthly costs are 20 Euro, it's a kind of flatrate. The six pool tables are available from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m.
There are a lot foreign players in our club, like swedish or norwegain, croatian, turkish, rumanian and so on.
Some of them don't speak german, but billiard is a language spoken all over the world :-)
After all, we've got an IPAT-Examiner and license coach, too.
Would be fine to read you again in the next days (or see you in Frankfurt).

Greetings from germany
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for taking time to register and answer my question. I know where Billard Treff is, I went there a couple of times last year. I'm moving to Frankfurt for longer time now and I'll definitely drop by again. I'm arriving on January 3rd and if my friends are out of town, I may just unpack and head for Bornheim. Do you know if tram no 12 goes all the way to the Panoramabad?

It's great that you have PAT instructors, I just took some lessons in Serbia from a PAT instructor and I may need some more. Thanks and I'll contact you once I get there.

Igor

Hi Igor,
I'm looking forward to see you soon.
I don't know if the tram goes all the way to panoramabad (there is no tram station right in front of it, as you remember).
But the tram and metro arrives at "Eissporthalle" (where ice-hockey is played), it's only five minutes to walk from there on.
Here is the website where you can find out everything you need to travel in Rhein-Main-region:

By the way, I think my english is terrible...

Back to the PAT/IPAT-system:
I am one of the instructors and license trainer of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and hope to create a new world champion ;-)

Have a nice time in the US and look forward for a really good time in germany.

Greetings
Patrick

Thanks Patrick. I've just arrived in Frankfurt and I'll try to make it to the Billard-Tref this evening. I'll definitely contact you in the next couple of days.

Possibly in the near future. I don't have a car at the moment. I'll contact you if I find a fast way to get there.
