Hi everyone. I haven't had any luck using traditional search methods so I thought I would post here.

Does anyone know of any pool halls / billiard rooms in or around Elmira, Ithaca, or Binghamton, NY?

Thanks in advance.

Binghamton does (used to) have an old school pool hall. There is a small room in Waverly PA over the border. Not far.

Irish364,

There are several pool rooms in the Binghamton area. The Pocket Billiard Lounge in the Main Street Plaza is the best known. There are a couple of small rooms in Endicott. Unfortunately, there is no one I know of on this forum from Binghamton. Check yellowpages.com or bigyellow.com. Worse comes to worse, lots of rooms in Syracuse or Scranton.

Joe,

I think "Big Sam" moved his room from Sayre, PA to Binghamton last year.
There was a private billiard club in Waverly, NY. I'm not sure its still open.

Irish, where are you located?

Hi Lyn, I am in Waverly NY. I am just getting back into playing regularly and am looking for some decent rooms.

If by "Big Sam" you mean Sam Jerome... I think he passed away a while ago. Other than that... not sure who you are referring to.

The club in Waverly is still there, but the 15 tables are now reduced to about 4 and have given way to card tables.

I have found those you mentioned in the book. Is the Pocket Billiard Lounge a decent place to play? It doesn't look like there is much in Ithaca or Elmra areas, so I'll probably be stuck heading east.

Irish,

Sammy "K" is the guy I was thinking of. He's about six foot tall and two thirty or forty, pig tail hairdo. He was kind of a "legend" in that area. Plays pretty sporty. His pool room features his personal table. I bet the pockets are small and the playing condition fast. Better pay attention.

Hi my name is Joe, i used to live in endicott NY. there is a poolroom there on washington ave called "Triangle Billiards" it is with out question the best room in the town if you looking to play striaght or nine ball. the room is small but the owner nick keeps the tables in good shape. last i was there they were all gold crown w/ simonis. theres another place nere there called "Guys and Dolls" this is a bigger place but not really and action room. there is also a poolroom in downtown binghampto, i don't remember the name of the place but i wasn't bad. its a real big room in with some action if that is what your looking for. Some one else mentioned a guy named Sam, we used to call him "Fat Sam" he had the biggest break i have ever seen! he is a real good guy though, he opened his new place right as i move to cincy

hope this helps out
