Hi all,

Any pool rooms left in the Spartanburg area? I can't seem to find any open. I am travling and staying about 20 miles north so Greenville is really too far. Gastonia NC is another option if anyone knows of one there as well. Just looking to get out of the hotel and hit some balls, but I am looking for 9 ft tables.

Thanks for any assistance.

Vee

It depends on exactly where you're staying. Are you staying 20 miles north of Greenville or 20 miles north of Spartanburg?

Greenville to Spartanburg is 30 miles

Spartanburg to Gastonia is 50 miles

If you're 20 miles north of Greenville, your best bet is to go to Greenville. If you're staying above Spartanburg, go to Gastonia.

Go to google maps and search "billiards near spartanburg, sc" & the results all come up for Greenville. If you search "billiards near gastonia, nc" there's a few options in that area to choose from.

Not much in Gastonia, but at that point, you are only about 10 or 15 minutes from Charlotte...plenty to choose from here.

Afraid not. I don't know what's in Gastonia, never heard of a pool room there.
Bar tables only, in the Spartanburg area.

I am actually staying in Gaffney SC, Gastonia is about 30 miles north spartanburg 20 miles south and greenville 50 miles south. Guess my only options are greenville or Charlotte.

Yeah, you're kinda out in the middle of nowhere. Greenville is probably your best bet.

where do you play in charlotte, I have been to the room in concord but thats too far. anything down 85 on the south west side. say around exit 30 to exit 34?

The two easiest to get to are both on the south side. Take 85 north to 485 (should be exit 30) and go south toward Pineville. Take the south tryon st exit and turn right...about 2 or 3 traffic lights on the right is the new Paradise Billiards.

Or you can stay on 485 to the Pineville exit, take a right and go about 1/2 mile...The Green Room is on the right.

Paradise is new, and has nice equipment, but not much of a regular crowd so far.
The Green Room is older, more established, and usually has a pretty good crowd most every night.

**************CORRECTION***************

Paradise is on the left side of South Tryon St.
Sorry about that.

Bar tables only

Rascals, 9 bar tables
Tommy T's, 6 new Diamond bar tables
G-Jays Inman, Hwy 176 9 bar tables

Anyone familiar with one of the following? Do they have big tables?

Baileys - Mooresboro, NC
Legends - Forest City, NC
West End Billiards - Gastonia, NC

These are just a few on the map whose business name sounds like it might be a legit pool room. If you try this map search, there is an area at the bottom (not in the photo) that will allow you to see another page of listings that are a greater distance from your starting point. (I chose a hotel that was at the intersection of I-85 & Hwy 11 in Gaffney as a starting point)

West End has 4 or 5 9 footers. Not a bad room, nothing fancy. I haven't been there in about 3 years. The owners are good people
On the Hill has a few 9 footers as well. Small room, but again, not a bad place.

If all you want is a place to shoot some, either would do you fine. I don't know what kind of crowd you would find at either place. If you are looking for a little light action, you would probably do better at West End. I think they both have some league players there.
