Pool rooms in Santa Monica

The only place left that you can call a poolroom is on Olympic Blvd and 14 street. It’s an old Latino social club with 3 Brunswick anniversary pool tables and 3 three cushion billiard tables. Since HOB have been closedown in January most of the 1 pocket players are making a home in there. Ok tables. Earnesto recover and made them all 4 inch pockets.

Bug told me it’s a good room. Ima roll in one day here soon. I’ve been in nyc and other places since he told me. I’m in la for a minute. Gonna have a look.

Not sure if this helps, but If you have time and are just looking for fun adventures, check out Santa Barbara & Santa Maria areas, just Google poolhall/billiards and you’ll find the obvious spots. 1.5-2 hr drive from Santa Monica, but several fun rooms and bars and the coastal drive up and around those areas is gorgeous & great non pool fun on their own merit.
For more serious pool fix, you could investigate Shooters Bar & Grill, classic poolhall scene with mostly GCs, a few Diamonds and lots of Valley bboxes - a few locations within 2 hrs of Santa Monica. Temecula & Riverside locations are pretty action filled spots, suitable for easy friendly fun games, solo practice, and also a large, vibrant & friendly Filipino pool community, all the rotation, 1p, ring games and weekly tourney & league scene that one could want. Temecula spot seems to be Jose Parica’s home room these days. Great fun and experiences to be had, but non pool stuff to do in those areas is basically nada.
If you somehow find your self in Monterey, Santa Cruz for San Fran areas, PM me and I can steer you to more fun spots.

Played at Young Dong Billiards. Not exactly Amsterdam Billiards. Second time this week I played on tables with pocket castings held together/secured with duct tape.

Wow, that is a bummer...visited a few times before the whole covid thing. Was lucky enough to meet Mika there. Nice place and beautiful city. But real estate has to be outrageous there.
Mr Lucky’s in Torrance is a decent spot too
Q sports bar. This was the best table in the house. Instead of a rack of balls I asked for a set of tools. Forget wearing a mask... I wore a wet suit. Had to leave as fast as we got there. Extremely loud sound system.

Only thing missing is “patina”.
And people think you have to spend good money to start a profitable business.
Might be the way to start. Look for as much free/cheap stuff as you can.
ROI would be good.

Pretty good equipment, during the afternoons it’s a good spot.
Nothing… yet it’s busy in there. Less than banger level and having a good time
