Been setting up my Porper lathe and notice the whole headstock seems to move laterall while under load. It does not move like this when not rotating. I'll be tearing into it to see what I can figure out but does anyone know what is going on here?

Thanks, John

IDK but a lathe like that would require a real steady hand. 🥶

The belt pulley holds the spindle in. Move the pulley over and tighteen it.
Also check that the screws holding the bearings in place are tight.
