Porper Model "b" For Sale...lots Of Extras

CUE BALL INCOMING!!!
Silver Member
I just recently bought out a cue repairman for a fair price as a favor to help him out and am looking to get my cash back with a small profit. I don't need all of the extras that I bought, so I am including some of them here to sweeten the deal. Most likely I will not separate this package, because it is geared to either a person getting started, or to an established repairman/cuemaker that could use a few more of what's included. Here goes:

~ Porper model "B" Lathe about 10 yrs. old possibly slightly more. Both circuit boards are being replaced so that the new owner has no worries with the current ones. Comes with the following:
? Drill Chuck with key ? Lathe Chuck with key
? Face Knife ? Assortment of Collets
? Three Pins; 3/8-10, 5/16-14, 5/16-18
? One Wrap Holder ? X-Y Tool Post
? Router Attachment ? Taper Bar with micrometer adjustment
? Indexing Lock ? One Dead Center
? Two Live Centers ? One Steady Rest
? Tip Centering Tool ? One Sanding Block

That's most of the standard items that come with a new machine. The following are extras that will be included.
  • Heavy duty hands free pedal for doing wraps ect. (Sells for $200.00+)
  • Porper Linen Press (Sells for $150.00)
  • McDermott Bumper Tool
  • 8 Assorted Spools of Genuine Irish Linen. (Sells for $350.00+)
  • Bundle of sandpaper incl. 220, 400, 600, 1000, & 1500 grit.
  • Supply of tips as follows: (14mm Boxes of 50 unless otherwise noted) -Triangle 11mm, 12mm (partial box), 14mm - Blue Knight - Triumph -Elkmaster - LePro - Sumo
  • 5 Ivor-X Ferrules - (3) Saber-T Ferrules - (2) Buckhorn - (25) Porper
  • 19 Assorted Joint Pins incl. 3/8-10, 5/16-18, 5/16-14, Brass, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, &(1) G-10
  • Joint Protector Pins (3) standard threads
  • Bottle of Cueman Shaft Sealer
  • (3) Tins of Karseal Cue Wax
  • Bottle of Cue Components Cyano (Super Glue)
  • Assortment of colored rings for shafts and joints.
  • Assortment of SS & Implex joints.

This lathe has been used by me for the past month and I personally guarantee it operates just like my other two. I am changing out the boards because I was told that the two included are the original boards and I happen to know that they have about a 5 year life span with relatively heavy use, and I won't risk selling a lemon to anyone.

Cost for everything listed is $2950.00 plus Shipping.
Note:The extras alone, sell for over $1000.00 and this lathe sells new for $4300.00!

I'm sure I've forgotten something, so if there are any questions, please PM me or call me at . I will answer all correspondence in the order I receive them, so don't worry if I don't get right back to you. Thanks.

lathe

I'm interested purchasing the lathe.
What would the shipping cost and insurance be to
ship it to State College, PA 16801?

Would this lathe be ok for finishing a full-spliced blank
& finishing a shaft cone or dowel?

I want to assemble/build very basic sneaky pete cues,
with somekind of basic finish. (hand applied)
I do not have spray finish set up or the area in the
basement to do it. (would never do spray finish in
my home)

I'm 56 retired & have been doing basic repairs with
a cue companion for ~9yrs. thanks, sax

Hey John! Mike is right. I believe I am only approx. 3-4 hours away from you and I would be willing to meet you half way. I'll give you a call about that and the other questions you had. Thanks.

lathe

Cuedog,

I do not have a pickup truck. I do not think the lathe would fit in the back
seat of 97 Chevy Lumina. I've had a surgery for a nasty hernia couple of
years ago. The weight (150 lbs.) The dimensions (62"x15"x13") require a
pickup truck/van to move it properly.

I"ll pay for the shipping cost and packing cost and the pain of packing the
sucker!!!! I will need to pay some one to move it onto the work bench
in my basement. Maybe do some free repair work.

Please take your time......... no hurry...........get some pro to pack it.........
....give me a total price for everything (packed-shipped-insurance)

I'll pay it..............again...no hurry....when you get around to it!!!

later, sax
