possible ebay scam Phillippi

I tend to disagree with the ambitiousness of this price. The cue, in my opinion, isn't a $3500, but pretty comfortable with the $2000 range new. Plus, you get a very nice custom leather case (possible Justis), that would probably bring at least $200, so you get the cue for $800. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Got your PM and I see what you are saying - thanks!

LOL almost a day to go and it's already over $1100. No pics in the auction, so I'm guessing people are basing their bids from the pic posted here. Guess it pays to keep things a secret from this joint! Flowers or Swift case as a throw in too...

Yeah, looks like a 0-feedback bidder might win it.

What are the chances of the lister and bidder being one and the same?
That's a tough call, but it certainly doesn't help his auction to get more bids....of course, ebay bidding never makes much sense.

I really thought the guy was being honest when I spoke with him. He is not a pool player - cue belonged to his Dad - and has no use for it. He told me that he called Phillippi and they quoted him $3.5K retail. I tend to think that he is being honest and that a 0-feedback bidder saw our thread and decided to go for a good deal on a cue. But who knows? I don't need any more cues and know next to nothing about Phillippi's, so I'm staying away from it. Hope one of you gets a good deal!
