Possible to have butt re-tapered?

Is it possible to have a butt re-tapered after a cue has been finished? Have any of the cuemakers here ever had a request to re-taper a cue butt, say during a refinish?

Yes and no. Ive retapered a few butts but they cant have any flat bottomed inlays or they will wipe out.

I've done it with sneakies.
It is possible but then again...

I've done it on sneakies that worked out fine also, but have cut one of My own too shallow with some nice inlays, that I worked long and hard on , and still keep It around to remind me, In hopes It does'nt happen again , so understand what rhncue is talking about. It's got to be very uncertain if you don't even know how deep they are in the first place.

I have retapered a couple of old plain players, and sneekys. Don't think I would try anything with inlays though.
