Power stroke

Hello Shawn, I recently traded in my 7ft table and purchased a 9ft table. I noticed that on my long shots I was not making as many as before. I made an x on my table from corner pocket to corner pocket. I think this is a mental issue I am having. On medium stroke speed and half table shots my tip hits right on the line, but on longer shots and power shots I noticed that I am getting english on the ball and on the draw the cue ball is not coming straight back and is spinning. I feel what is happening, I am mentally telling my self that I have to shot harder and my grip and arm is tenson up. What would you suggest to solve this problem.

Thanks Bill

try this... Just use cue ball for practise.. You should position yourself at one end of the table(maybe breaking area).

placed the cueball on the breaking line(align centre). Make sure its straight. you can check, the centre diamond should run through the cueball straight to the bottom spot(where the one ball is during 9 ball racking) and all the way down to the bottom. Meaning perpendicular to the bottom rail (diamond).

What you need is to shoot the cueball down to the end rail(centre diamond) and let the cueball bounce back until it reaches back to you cue tip. If it doesn't touches your tip.. mean you have applied some english while stroking through the cue ball. So make some adjustment and practise this for half hour to and hour.

After that try drilling few straight shot. You should get better after 20 shots or so. Good Luck
