With 16 of the current greatest players, 9-ball races to 8 single elim. is ridiculous! In my opinion, races to 9 in 10-ball, or races to 11 or 13 in 9-ball should be the minimum. If length of matches for TV is the overriding consideration, then let them edit the dead air out of the matches, just like they do in poker. Races to 8 in 9-ball with top echelon players is a coin flip.
