Practice or Books Which is Best?

Practice or Books Which is Best? My Son-in- Law is a #7 in APA League... never read any Billiard Books.... Only Play! So which is better Books or just playing!!!

Yes I post this Question , also in the Main Forum..... But Rat F@@ker ... want to to know what the Carom Billiards Section Think.... Don't be scare to post an answer!

Book provide ideas, only practice provides results. As has been said, "Don't practice until you can make a shot, practice until you can't miss it!"

Most important, IMO, is playing with players that are better than you who are willing to share their knowledge. @12squared is a great example of such a person. Watching video (or live if you can manage it) of top level players, particularly in shot selection is also excellent - particularly when Blomdahl is doing the commentary.
