If you had 5 to 6 hours to practice a day what would you do? What would be the most benificial for improvement?

For each day I have a regime consisting of the following (however I dont have 5-6 hours a day.

1) Stroke Building (maintenance) shots. 2 shots used every day of the week. Executed properly 15 times in a row.

2) Position shots. 5 exclusive shots to practice for everyday of the week. Each shot made with correct position 10 times in a row. If a miss on position or making the ball, start from zero until 10 in a row is executed.
3) Angle maintenance drills. A different drill for each day of the week to maintain proper angles. Each drill (pattern) must be completed properly 5 times.
4) 3 times a week run 2 consecutive racks ( at least) of straight pool.

5) Once a week PLay a complete set of "Q-skill" (fargo). A set consists of 10 racks.

Tough Question

1. Practice the Break Shot for the Game you play, until you are consistant with the shot, as the Break Shot is the most important shot of the game.

2. Practice what I call Long Shot where the Cue Ball & Object Ball are very far apart

3. Work on Draw Shots until you could control distance, and direction.

4. Work on Play Straight Pool with the goal of 50 or 100 BALLS in a Row with out missing a shot.

5. spend 1 hour of you practice day playing your favorite game with a Player who plays a Level or Two above you.

6. Go home and have a Beer as you did a good days work
:D

when i first started playing i use to play about 16 hours a day, love'd it. Then i went down to about four or five hours a day now about a half and hour a day not ever that sometimes. But what i use to do is do alot of shot making drills, which include rails shots, long straight in shots and all the cut shots. Then i would shot safety shots then try to get outta those safeties, Then i would set up clutter'd balls and figure how to break them out at what speed to get a shot and how the balls reacted. I worked on my stroke by using the bottle trick alot, and now i have learned BHE so what i do now is work on this alot. But all that would get boring and tiring so what i do now is just work on one part a day this way it doesn't get so tiring for me. Oh and i would study the diamond system as i never jumped the ball don't have a jump cue lol and cannot do it with my playing cue at all so i would do alot of kicks and kick safeties. Notice the word would as i don't do this that much anymore have to start back up on that part of my game which is lacking.

Here is a site that has some good drills scroll down and find it, these are the shot making drills and other things i put in on my daily routine at the table
