This is just getting beyond awful. I realize that people are going to pass, but we’re getting hit with a barrage.

My very first cuemaker interview was Dave Jacoby in 2003. I knew nothing really about Jacoby Cues, so I concentrated on who he was and how he ever became a cuemaker. That set the tone for all of my cuemaker articles. I ended up interviewing David for another article (The ACA) as well. He was always more than accommodating. Brandon didn’t fall far from the tree, obviously, as they’ve ridden the cue business together.

Godspeed, David Jacoby. May your journey take you to the next great adventure.

I have a signed David Jacoby original cue that I treasure. I think it's a masterpiece of artistic design. I deeply respect his craftsmanship, imagination, and creativity. It is no exaggeration to call David Jacoby an artist. We all have to get off this round ball somehow, and I hope his passing is full of peace and reward, family and friends, and full awareness of a good life well spent.
