Can anyone take a look at the pictures below. Each one came from a different person (only 3 people just have two angles). The one that is darker goes on harder and does not cover as well/easy

Anyone know why? Is it bad Chalk that was exposed to moisture?

I recently wanted to buy all the vintage chalk I could for exactly this reason. I got ahold of 4 different people that all had blue pre flag master. I have only recieved three of the shipments so far but I did notice that one persons collection had these charicteristics. I THINK it is becouse it is maybe a leter version of pre-flag. Say late 90's and the other stuff seems to be the older veriety. I AM LOOKING INTO IT.....

We can exchange info privatly if you want.

That's fine privet or on here. I am not going to disclose where it came from but if it's due to being in a damp and it hurts the performance of the chalk I will be asking to reverse the deal. Or come to a agreement on what to do about it.

I am going to look into it. If you find anything out let know if you would.

Thanks.

some boxes of chalk just suck-period. Flag or no flag. Master is also counterfited in China:eek: and that chalk really sucks, its grayer and gritty/sandy.

I have a pile of pre-flag some of which is 30 years old, some neweer. I want to send it to a lab and have the lead levels tested in it and other stuff and get a solid answere to the question. I use pre-flag and I like it alot, most pieces are good, same goes with the new stuff some good some bad.

Its not correct to assume that all chalk no matter who makes it will be consistant.

Thanks for the reply

Now the lab results would be intresting to know. Would also be good to send one of the Flad masters also to see if there is any difference in the two.
