I know that these are not as popular as the Z2 or the regaulr 314-2.
I am looking for something a little stiffer with the same benefits.
Can anyone compare them to any other ld shaft on the market? How do they feel? Same ld as a 314-2?
I have tried an OB-1, OB classic, OB Claais pro, I-2... The list goes on an on.

I have been playing with the FAT for about a year or so with success. Th FAT plays like a 314-2 but a little stiffer and they share the same taper. The 13.20mm diameter is where the shaft gets it's extra stiffness, not from a stiffer taper. I heard that the original FAT Predator came up with had a taper closer to the BK2 shaft. I assume that it was indeed much stiffer and probably had more deflection then what they wanted out of the shaft. With the taper that the FAT currently has it deflects a bit more ( 5% more according to Predator ) then the 314-2 but not much so you don't have to worry about losing the low deflection properties.
I do like the like the FAT shaft very much and I hope this has helped you out.

Can you tell me from a feel perspective does this feel more like the BK-2 or is it closed to the 314-2.
Thanks for the help.

If you've played with the OB shafts, then you've already played with the best in my opinion.

As the OP states, he's already played with OB shafts and is now looking for something better. That's where Predator comes in.
Predator is KING and always will be.
That's also an opinion.

Fat Shaft

I've played with them all. To me the Fat 314-2 was just too big. MAybe I'm used to the way a 314-2 standard shaft plays, but felt I was losing alot with the Fat shaft. I would try to use one before buying if possible, they are like playing with a house cue, because of the tip diameter.

OB's are nice, but a little stiff for me. I love the way the flexability of a 314-2 let's me juice the cueball when needed. You lose that when going Fat.

Great points.
I like the 314-2 but it is just a little whippy.
The OB classic is really stiff.
Personally I like 13MM tip.
Just like everyone else, I want the best of both worlds :)

Then the FAT is your shaft. To answer your last question it plays more like a 314-2 then a BK2. The BK shaft is pretty stiff, the FAT is just a bit stiffer then a 314-2, so in my opinion that is exactly what you're looking for. I also liked the 314-2 but wanted something a little less whippy :)

BTW I do not find it all that difficult to move the rock around the table.

KJ,

I was thinking about having a BK2 shaft converted into a player. I believe you've done this for customers before, have you any feedback regarding the deflection of these shafts in comparison to the FAT?

Thanks for all the feed back on this.
Seems to be a little mixed reviews.
Before I drop $250 on a shaft that I may like or a may not like I am going to need to try one out.
I guess I will need to see when the next big touney when predator, ob, McDermott and the other folks will be there and test them out for myself

I have been playing with the fat shaft for about 10 days. It does have less deflection than a conventional shaft and a nice crisp hit. the hit is much like a regular 314. The biggest thing for me to get used to was that it is lighter and I noticed it at first. By the way throw away the stock tip it feels like you are hitting balls with a marshmellow (I put on a kamui black hard)
