Predator 1st edition

Yes they did.

Every 'regular' line of cues that Predator has introduced (in this case the 3K Series) had first edition models made. The First edition designates that cue as being one of the first made of that design. How many made depends on the value of the cue (more First Edition 3K1's made than 3K2, more FE 3K2 made than 3K3)

I am unsure of the exact number of 3K3 FE cues made but it was most likely 100 to 150. Once all the FE are sold, they continue to make that model, but remove the FE from the butt. FE should make the cue worth a little more than a non FE, how much more is very subjective and depends on the buyer as to what they are prepared to pay.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other Predator questions (I worked there for almost 8 years :) )

what about limited and special editions? how many first editions would they make of each? I ask this because I have first edition, limited edition IV . While i'm at it, the predator.com website doesn't list a limited edition 1 or 2 do you know why? Lastly, what's the difference in special and limited?

They do not make First Edition limited editions or First Edition special editions.

The LE1 and LE2 were plain black cues, basically the same as the 314-1

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply, but I have here a predator first edition limited edition IV. It's the same as the one on the predator.com retired cues page. Could you shed any insight into this cue? I'm not calling you out or anything but my cue seems to contradict what you just said.

Almost forgot here's the whole cue. My flash doesn't work well.

Actually, your cue does not contradict what I said as your cue is not a Limited Edition IV...sorry to be the one to tell you.

The LE IV was 6 point and your cue is 4 point....I am guessing your cue does not have LE-IV anywhere on it? Or any wording that says Limited Edition?

As I said before, Predator never made First Edition Limited Editions.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Man that sure is a bummer. What cue is this, do you know? I mean it looks like a limited edition IV but on further inspection of the retired cues page at www.predatorcues.com, yeah, I can see how that's a 6 point and mine is a 4. Looking at the pictures though, I do not see my cue anywhere. Also about a month ago I saw this same model on ebay but without the "1st edition" the seller called it a LE IV and I am positive his too had 4 points. Are you able to shed any light on this?

I feel like this reply may be over a decade late.

I came across this post as I was doing my own research on a first edition I just picked up.

I believe your cue is 99-4.
If you go to the predator website you can find your cue under the retired cues.
