Predator 314 2 decal question

Ok, so I was changing the shaft insert for a customer; during the tapping process the 314-2 decal came right off. I noticed it right after I got it out of the chuck. Is this typical? I have done this to other 314 and Z shafts with no issue.

Does any one know where to get another decal?

Thanks for the help and Happy Holidays,
Nick

The decal is supposed to be UNDER the finish, not on top.
Any Predator dealer should have the decal.
Once applied, shoot some clear over it so this doesn't happen again.

I thought the decal should have been under the clear coat. It was really odd - could it have been a partial and someone just messed up and put the decal on last? I'm really curious to know why it happened. Does Predator use auto-finish?
Thanks for the info, KJ cues.
I figured I would do a coat or 2 and then put the decal on and finish it.
Anyone know where to get a decal specifically?

When I said UNDER the finish, I meant on the bare sealed wood.
If you don't want to sand down to bare wood you can leave a little of the orig. finish and place the decal on top of that as long as you cover it with a few coats of clear.

Any Predator dealer that sells partials will have the decals.
The dealer is supposed to supply a decal with each partial.
They have extras so when the person doing the work 'blows' the first install, they can get another and try it again.

Predator uses a UV finish.
Scuff their finish with 400 grit and you can shoot auto-clear over it.
