Predator 314 F.A.T

Wish that were an option now, I'd like to try one and haven't seen any for sale ever.
I thought the Vantage was similar but bigger diameter and the and the Z-3 had a smaller conical taper. It looks like the Vantage is only 12.9mm compared to 12.75 for the 314. That's a pretty small difference.

I think I've read that the vantage has the conical taper that the Z has, only the larger diameter. Not a big difference in diameter but if it's conical it probably gets thicker pretty quick. They need to keep that first 5 inches light for ld so it kind of makes sense.

I'd be willing to bet the 314 fat didn't score very well regarding it's ld qualities, especially if all they did was not turn down a 314 as much as they usually do. Leaves both more maple and a not so thin walled ferrule.

Speaking only for myself. I'm not that fine tuned or good enough to appreciate a low deflection shaft. That being the case if I wanted a 3.2mm I'd have a shaft custom turned from a reputable cue maker. It can be turned down for any reason.

For me...It's not so much deflection as it is the feel in the bridge hand. I liked the Fat at the time. I used it so much the diameter is less than 13 now.
Just checked the two larger shafts I have, one is13.25, the other 13.5. They're cored with not much for ferrules so they don't deflect too bad.
