Predator 314 shaft... can the diameter be cut down?

I'm using a Predator Z shaft, which has a diameter of 11.75mm, and I'm thinking that's a bit small, and the Predator 314 shaft at 13mm diameter is a bit big, so I was thinking of getting a 314 shaft cut down to about 12.3mm.

Will this have any effect on the playability of the cue?

Thanks for the help!

My understanding is that Predator 314's are 2.75mm from the factory, but I've seen many at 2.5mm. The claim is that alterations void the warranty.

yeah I believe that if you go under 12mm then you will void the warranty. Then you will be cutting into thier crappy glue they use and the shaft will come apart.

You can take the 314 down to 12.25mm. That's the minimum according to the warranty. The effect is, it will deflect less.
Hope this helps.
