Predator Air Rush Jump Cue - wrap or no wrap?

I am looking for my first jump cue.

I was thinking of buying the wrapless. I have tried the Air II wrapless a couple times and had no issues with it.

But I am having second thoughts that maybe that rubber wrap will aid in those quick sharp jabs at the cue ball? But I do know that rubber is really sticky and I don't know if there might be some unknown issues that could arise from it? Jump cues not used very often so I don't think I'm worried about the wrap wearing out. Mainly just worried about the difference in play on the table.

The matte finish on the air rush handle is very slippery. I had a wrapless one and disliked it because it that, and sold it pretty quickly and got a jumper with a rubber grip. So I would definitely go with the rubber grip. Not sure if the finish is the same on the air 2

The Matte finish will become glossy over time from use with use and better gripping than when new.
I preferred this over the wrap when I had a jb case

I did notice the matte finish on the air rush but I haven't had a chance to hold one. I don't really get sweaty hands if that is any factor. And I don't remember any matte finish on the Air II.

My thought was I could just get the Longoni X Grip Latex Pro wrap if I was unhappy with wrapless. That would just slip over the handle.

Besides buying the wrap version and realizing I might not like the way it feels, I get concerned that even if I fall in love with the wrap, that wrap might slowly degrade after the first year and either start flaring out in weird spots or get hard like an old golf club grip... I also doubt that predator sport grips are covered under warranty.

Per an internet search the Longoni grip is .4 oz. Adding almost a half ounce to a jump cue might change it. I don’t know. But keeping the weight down is a big thing in jump cues.

I have had both and now have a wrap less . I can’t tell the difference honestly.

Playing wise I found no different between a wrap or wrap less cue. But most of them with the wrap are hard getting into some cases

Tbh, the handle length is annoying for most cases. I split it, wrap it in a towel and stick it in the front pocket.

I think the wrap-less felt generally thicker in the hand, but that is subjective and not fact. I also thought it was lighter. Again, subjective. They both do the trick. I don't think having a grip really matters all that much with regard to this particular jump cue. Different cues I have tried, the grip or no grip version has real pros and cons.

Without the last piece of the handle, they're the same. That little bit at the end doesn't make all that much difference. I got a gripped one because I play in an incredibly humid environment for half the year. But really, I could have gotten either.
