Predator and Lucasi

Tell which you guys think is a better choice as far as quality and playability: a predator cue or a lucasi cue with a predator shaft? I know that you are probably thinking "what the hell kind of post is this?????" but I would really like to know other peoples opinions on subjects that I encounter while sitting at work. The specific cues that I am thinking about are the Predator SPJLW and the Lucasi LE-4 with a 314 shaft. I know that many people have their own biases about the 314 shafts but just forget about them and give me your choice between the two cues. Either the Predator SPJLW or the Lucasi LE-4 w/ the 314 shaft and why you chose that specific cue.
I do appreciate your help. I thoroughly enjoy the diversity that these forums provide me because I dont know very many people that know anything about pool in my area other than the people at the poolhall and they arent exactly the friendliest people. These forums always have very informative posts and I never fail to get a good answer! So thanks to all who reply

I play with a cue I bought for forty bucks. I have no idea how those cues play. The way I see it is, play with a cue you can handle and get used to it. That is, learn how to make shots with that cue. As long as it works for you, then it's a good cue....IMO

"Lucasi" & "Players" cues are made by the same company. For a low priced cue they are one of the better values around. I know a lot of good shooters that like these cues.

"Predator" only makes the shafts of their cues and someone else makes the butts(unless they have changed operations around). I wouldn't rate a Predator butt any better than a Lucasi in playability.

For the cost savings/value Lucasi would need to give Predator the last 4 & the break. :)

predator cues are made by falcons....might as well buy a falcon then buy a 314 after....lucasi's are aight...tried my friends and it's not bad but i like falcons better.

Predator is now making the butts for their cues (at least the P2 line.)

It is a spliced construction similar to the shafts.

Which one turns you on more to look at? You'll have this for awhile so you might as well like to look at it each time it comes out of the case. I think both have an uni-loc joint so that makes it equal. I'd go with the Lucasi if it turns you on because you'll also have a Lucasi shaft which I think feels and plays better than a Predator. So, if the Predator shaft is acting up, take it off and put on the other shaft.

If you get a Lucasi pick one with a Radial pin, it makes the cue 150% more solid feeling and hitting. Uni-crocks sometimes lock up and if they do, the only way to unlock them is with a sledge hammer & saw.................... seen 3 so far like that. A radial pin is the most solid of all types of connections made.

Predator SPJs look are very simple. As far as i know, they have spliced points. Though I could be mistaken. I'm not sue about the Lucasi model you talked about, but I think that the Lucasi will be much superior in terms of aesthetics.

I have played both Lucasi L21U and Predator SPJ (2K series). They offer very different hits. The SPJ will give good feedback. But I think the Lucasi will have a stiffer feel on the grip.

my lucasi

i agree with ruthless. anything with radial pin will definitely help you to feel your shots more. i have a lucasi le-r with a black diamond tip and these two are an awesome combination for half the cost. i like this cue more than my previous predator SPW. you should buy the cue and change the tip first and figure out if you're satisfied with it before you spend $170 for a shaft.

Hi I have a predator spw that plays just fine. The only issue I had with it is that it was too back weighted for my liking so I had .5oz taken out of the butt. This made it more midweighted. I have heard that the lucasi is a fine stick and I know that predator makes a fine stick.

For me the issue would be how the stick is weighted. The predator 2 balance point can be chosen from 17,18,19 in from butt but a plain jane.
