predator extension review

Most people that play predator I've talked to weren't sure how it would fit so haven't bought one.. The wife got me one for christmas. its pretty simple to install. You take the old bumper out of your cue and replace it with the one it comes with that has the screw hole in it. they give you an allen wrench with it to tighten it but I would have to say thats unnecessary...I got it tight enough by hand. The extension itself goes on tight in less then two turns which is good. I want it go together quickly when I need it. I'm sure it fits differently on different predators. I have a road line and as you see it's not a completely clean fit. you can see the space on the edges but it is tight and doesn't effect how it works. Just doesn't look clean esthetically. There about $90 bucks on Amazon which seems a little high.. but it's a gift so she really didn't care lol I will say it feels better then the omega billiards one I was using before. it doesn't add all the weight on the back of your cue like that does.

Mezz has the same thing, but it looks a bit cleaner. I think all cue brands should offer an extension as a option.
This is how the Mezz ones look:

I didn't know they had one that worked on a predator. I would have bought that long ago. the road line butt is a little different then the rest of the predator line so maybe it fits different on the rest.

Sorry I should clarify, the picture is a bit deceiving.
The black and tulipwood cue is indeed a Predator, but it`s a limited edition Predator made by Mezz, so it takes Mezz weightbolts and extensions, but have the usual Uni-Lock that all predators have.
This is the full view of the cue: http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/theproshop/main.php?P=product&pid=PredSE11

My Exceed with the "dildo" and the mid cue extension can rival Earl Stricklands cue :D
Butt: 29"
Shaft: 30"
Extension 3"
Butt extension 10"
Thats a 72inch cue ! :D

yea I don't like the extension that goes between the shaft and butt . I don't want to have to take it apart. that would only be fine if I was planning on playing with the extension on the whole time

I`m playing with the mid cue extension on all the time. I love the extra reach it gives me. The balance point moves too, wich suits me fine.

The Mezz has a much better fit In terms of aesthetics. I'll probably still get one, their not nearly as expensive as the Mezz extensions, wondering if they can be modified to fit a bit better

My wife also bought me the Predator QR extension for my P3. I like it. I don't notice the butt cap change and as the OP said, it screws in very quickly. I was worried about a thickness issue on my P3, but out side of the seam, it feels like it's supposed to be there.

like I said I think it depends on which predator you have on how clean it will look when installed. it's solid on my cue though .. It feels fine when I use it.
