Predator Extension stacking

Good morning,, I searched but could not find a thread with this question.

Can Predator cue extensions be stacked? Have a 3" and an 8" and add them together to make an 11" when I need it, or use one or the other when I only need the smaller reach. Am pretty small on a 9 foot table. I already have a Predator 8" extension, but it seems the bumper on that is not meant to come off so not sure how I would add a screw in bumper to attach the 3 inch to it or the other way around etc.

Thanks in advance

With a very long extension and not being able to reach past a normal distance, you will be past the shaft when trying to hold the cue. Use a bridge along with the 8" extension. I do have a couple of sets of extensions that can stack, but they are generic ones from China that use the Predator pin.

You can add a 4inch mid cue extension But what a pain in the ass to have to put together and take apart your cue in the middle of a game.

I was thinking about something like this myself. You would think the bumper should come off and you can add as many extensions as you wanted. I guess it's just poor design

IIRC, the bumper on the extension has the same thread as the adapter and that it *is* removable. Now I have to go and see if I dreamt it.

I've added a Predator QR bumper to several extensions, no problem at all.

No, you cannot stack the predator extensions. There are the generic extensions that you can stack.

I'm not sure if Predator does, but there are other brands that can.

So I took the bumper off my Predator extension. It is indeed tapped the same thread as the QR extension. But the tapped depth is a little short for the QR adapter to seat fully. It might be just fine for your needs. But I ran a tap deeper, maybe another 1/4” so such that a QR adapter can be installed fully seated.

The tap is an M16x1.5 (flat bottom of course). There’s very little need for the average pool player to have any metric taps laying around at the house, so ask a cue mechanic that actually installs Predator Extensions.

Thanks everyone for your input... I just bought a new 3 inch from Predator and the end rubber is now glued on, and the end is non tapped on their extensions, so the answer from Predator is "no stacking,," buy a 12"and an 8" and use whichever one you want when you need it... :-(

That’s unfortunate.

Buy mine.

It's interesting to me why cue extensions of different lengths and designs have remained so popular. I like gadgets so I have bought most of them because that's what I do. A local cue maker and a good friend has made me many over the last several years. John Hager is a friend and I have the extension he marketed and also his cue cases which have removable liners that can function as an extension. The case liner extension is too long, somewhat, cumbersome to use. But, since an extension is only used for one shot, primarily, it will work well. Now I have all these extensions but use the Hager extension because it is a quick, simple on/off method. John no longer markets his products, so my question is, why hasn't some manufacturer/person made a duplicate of his extension? This isn't meant to be a controversial post.

Because the newer extensions are a better design.
