predator fat cat vs 314 the hit

can any one give me the comparison /control of the fat cat vs the 314 im trying to decide which to purchase.

I've wondered that as well as I have used a 314 for years but haven't felt like paying the extra to try a fat cat. I would guess you could use the Mcdermott Ishaft comparison to tip size. It gives their philosophy of the advantages from 11.75 to 13mm. You know it is gonna be stiff & possibly stiffer then the 314 due to mass of it. Here is a McD chart. I may have to dig up a coffee can & splurge for one to see for myself.

Hello,

I recently purchased a Fat Shaft after using a 314-2 for a year now. I love the 314 and the low deflection aspect, it's just easier for me to incorporate english into my game ( less adjustment ). I have only shot with my Fat Shaft on two outings now and I can tell you that I really don't feel that much difference in the hit. I would say it is a little more firm and stiff but not ridiculously, I can still draw table length ( bar box ) with it. I closed a match while using a controlled draw shot to gain the right position for my key ball to get on line for the 8. However I do want to get out and test the shaft with some 3 rail shots to see if it can move the cueball around as easy as the 314-2. I will say it does deflect more then the 314-2 though, that is something else I'm going to have to experiment with. If I have to adjust a lot more then I thought I would and find it difficult to apply to my game, I will go back to the standard 314-2. I will let you know.

Hope this helps some,

J.A.W.
