I contacted the seller of an auction to confirm condition and straightness of a cue before I put any higher offers in because returns are not accepted for the item and I would prefer not to be stuck with a warped $700 cue.

I asked and his reply was, "It is as straight as any other Predator cue".

What the hell does that mean?

I understand there may be a typical slight roll in the shaft but if the center of the shaft touches the table and somehow the tip doesnt leave the surface it's still not straight. I brought it to his attention again and asked if it was straight.

His reply, "Anyone can put a cue on a lathe and find something wrong with it".

What the hell does that mean??

Now of course there was other bedside banter after he started insulting me but this was the beginning. I'm not saying the guy is a bad guy or that he's intentionally deceiving anyone but I have alarms going off when I can't get a straight answer from someone.

I guess it means he's about as honest as you're going to get. The translation would be "oh, I left it in my trunk for three seasons until I found it under the spare tire."

Take a pass, of course.

I had pretty much the exact same experience with this seller on a different cue, the pictures were not very clear and I asked for a close up of the bumper and a picture with the bumper off so I could see the weight bolt. His response was- "If we were talking a stronger sum of money... maybe, but I think your request is a little extreme to say the least. I guess I could... if I needed the money that bad... but I don't. Thanks anyway.".
Needless to say I just deleted his cue that I was going to bid on. Either this guy is intentionally running some kind of game or just has no social skills. Good luck

wow...im never going to deal with this dummy...."does it roll straight"? is not that hard to answer...

Selling on ebay does drive you crazy. It seems like 500+ cues go smooth and the 50-100 dollar cues, you get every question imaginable from "can you make a video of it roll" to broken fragments of a sentence not understandable. I've thought about replying the way this guy has but I don't. Yes ill send a video of this broken butt cap no shaft plain huebler rolling on my table. Gladly. good luck with the auction.
