Predator leather wrap

Anyone knows what leather Predator is using on most of their cues, or what it's called? It's not smooth, it's got a nice texture to it.

From a cue builder post in 2012:
"It's a synthetic rubber of sorts over a canvas type cloth with a fiber mat mtrl under that.
All in all, it's about .043/.045" thick. Linen is .025" thick."
So not genuine leather.

It has a nice look, but I didn’t like the feel. It felt like rubber, not leather. I returned the cue for that reason.

I've heard it's pretty grippy.
I use linen, I slide my hand all over the place on my wrap depending on the shot, don't need friction to slow me down.
Grippy wraps are great for break and jump cues imo.
But Predator's "Sport" and "Leather Lux" wraps are too grippy for play cues.

Thank you for your answers. If I wanted either exactly that or something similar for a cue, what's the closest thing I can get?

I think it's some type of synthetic material. I'm interested in getting a P3 but not knowing how the wrap feels is holding me off

I mostly play with the 9K-1 and it has the leather wrap you’re talking about.
I’m not a fan of what it feels like.
Much prefer the rubber wrap on the BK Rush whatever they call it.
This feels more like a leather that’s too dry and it also feels hard and has very little give in it.
That being said the only reason I got the cue is because it was the only one I could find that had leather going alll the way back as far as it can go.
Really don’t like the feel of either leather or linen and then it goes wrap less in the last 6 inches.
If anyone knows of a cue that has a leather or rubber wrap that goes all the way back to the last 1/2 an inch please chime in and let me know.

I would get a wrapless cue that you like the wood of, and have leather installed to your specifications. It will the cheaper than a $1000 predator too.

Everyone here that doesn't prefer leather probably won't like the Leather Lux. I have the Leather Lux, and real lizard leather. I like them both.

Not real leather, non wood shafts. quick release joints, adjustable weights, 3 and 6 inch extension.
The next generation cue is here.

It's about as leather as the $15 "leather" cases people put up on craigslist LOL
What happened to truth in advertising?
