Jazz, thanks!!
Actually, Predator had the great idea to build shafts that could produce less deflection. This is how they got started. It's my opinion they were trying to gain a share of the market producing shafts and suddenly they were very popular and quickly needed someone to help them rise to the top. Thus JOSS was the first choice to make Limited Editions for them. They were well respected in the industry and had a name everyone knows. I have a few Predator cues, the only production cues I collect. The original LE 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 were built by JOSS. After that various companies chose to build butts for Predator. Here are some of the cues I have cornered. Most of the earlier cues were made with bone ivory. The latest 8 pointers are full spliced cues. I have some of the old cues when Predator was first starting out with factory 1" long ferrules and some shafts that had no splices, 6 splices, and 12. They tried several configurations until they found 10 worked out best for manufacturing purposes. The ones with long ferrules and 6 splices are very rare!! Actually, all of the odd shafts and early cues are very collectable for production cues because there were very few built in the early days. If you ever run into one of the LE 1, 2, 3, or the early red/black veneered sneaky pete please let me know. I am always a player (or sucker??) for Predator cues. Here are some I will share. Hope you all enjoy.
