Predator shaft and viking

I want to get a predator shaft for my viking vm25 with the quick release 5/16x18 thread.

I have 2 questions.

First, can I get the regular 5/16x18 shaft, or do I have to get a special viking 5/16x18. Seyberts has both versions listed.

A shaft is for sale that has this description:
Brand new Predator 314 shaft, 1st quality, never been used and chalked,5/16-18 thread, 12.75mm. This shaft will fit Viking, Meucci, Huebler, Players cues.


Now I have another cue with a 5/16x18 thread and the shaft on that is not interchangable with my viking...so will this predator shaft work? Or should I play it safe and order from seyberts instead of trying to save some money?


Question 2: How much would it cost to have someone turn the shaft down to say 12.3mm? Anyone have any recommendations of a cuemaker who would do that?

Predator makes a shaft adapted specifically for the Viking quick release joint. There's also one for the older Viking shafts which don't have the quick release. You'll have to ask the dealer which one(s) they have.

As far as turning down the cue, any good cuesmith could do it, but I believe it voids the warranty. You might want to say where you live so you might get a hit on something geographically close to you.

as far as warranty is concerned, the predator is warrantied as long as the shaft is at least 12.25mm in diameter, so thats why i want 12.30mm or 12.35mm
