predator shaft on another cue

I am thinking of buying a Z shaft. The question I have is when you screw the shaft and butt together and if they are not flush with each other does it affect the play of the cue. If so would you have made to fit exact by a local cuemaker.

Hell Yes!!!!!!

A few years ago I purchased a 314 for my McDermott and the shaft was smaller than the butt and the joint would catch on the rail where the cloth ends.

I ended up having a butt made to match the 314.

There are some dealers out there who, at the time, said they would match the shaft to your butt if you mike'd it and sent them the dimensions. I sure wouldn't buy one again without being able to match it to the butt.

I use a 314 shaft on an Espiritu. It fits it very well.

Espiritu uses an identical joint to that of Predator (with the exception that Espiritu's ring is thinner than that of Predator but those are asthetics). The fit is absolutely perfect. McDermott on the other hand is a different story. Also, Meucci cues are thinner than Predator shafts so it will definately be off.

I figured this woud be a good place to ask...

Does anyone know what happened to Drivermaker? He hasn't posted in quite a while and I'm a little worried about him.

Thanks,
