schon join tis 5/16x14 piloted. preds come preconfigured in this joint style with the silver ring to match schons. they run like 190ish and then liek 10 for the extra inch to 30"

Correction, Predator shafts DO NOT come preconfigured to match a Schon. The Schon shaft has an interference fit pilot to the collar and the 'off the rack' Predator shaft does not have that pilot. The Predator shaft will fit but not the way Schon has designed it's shaft to fit.

The orig. poster is well aware of this as he engaged me with emails for 2 to 3 wks. of my time preparing me to build this shaft for him. I told him that I would build it at 31" with the Schon perfect joint. He replied that payment would be sent that week. 2 days later he emails that he's changed his mind. Now he's out price checking to get a better price. I wish him luck with his quest because he won't be getting that shaft from me. I have no more time for the 'tire kickers'.

I feel your aggravation. I'm always looking for a bargain and often use 10.00 worth of gas to save a dollar. I don't mind someone price shopping but once committed to a deal I feel it should be kept. People correspond with me constantly taking much time and then all of a sudden I never hear from them again. I don't have that much time left to waste.

CORRECTION! i did get a predator shaft with a schon insert and now i am looking for a backup shaft for my cue. I found one that would customize a 314-2 with schon insertfor $215. i told you that if i like the shaft then i would be in the market for a backup shaft. since i am not in a rush to get a backup shaft right now then i am just looking for a deal. there is no wrong in trying to get the best deal possible right or should the consumer just buy what comes first. im sorry if you feel like i wasted your time but im just trying to get the best deal possible for my BACKUP predator shaft with schon insert. thanks

I think you are WAY overreacting here, you said he engaged you for 2-3 weeks with emails, how long does it take you to email a quote? 2 minutes? I am a contractor and I have spent 16 hours on a bid before losing it to a lowballer. Big deal. It's the nature of the business hopefully I'll get the next one. Just because someone asks you for a quote does not mean he MUST give you the job if you give him a quote does it?

Did you or did you not tell me that you were sending payment that week? At that point, I start watching my mail-box for a reasonable amount of time, so I can let the client know if their payment hasn't arrived and might be considered lost. Once you tell a person that you're sending payment, you're no longer fishing for a quote. The quoting part was done. No harm done other than lost time. I still have my shaft & you apparently have another. You have every right to shop for the best deal possible but when you tell a person that you are sending payment, it sure sounds like you're done shopping. That's OK, I can chalk this up to being a learning experience. Some people you can take at their word and others you can't. From now on, serious inquires only, no more 'tire kickers'.

magnetardo,
Sorry to hear about your experience. This guy was past the point of getting quotes, he emailed that he was sending payment. Again, the quoting part was done. No, I don't think I was overreacting. My purpose was to inform others on this site of my experience with this individual so they might have an idea of what to expect if they chose to do business with him. Was that wrong?

KJ,
I did go tot he post office to send in the the payment but my local post office do NOT have a tube large enough to fit the shaft. The UPS site that is closest to my home is about an hour drive. You was still my first option to get my backup shaft. I also sent you an email to tell you that i purchased a predator shaft with schon insert and i'll see if i like the way it hits then i'll be getting a new shaft. if i was out to screw you then i would not even bother sending an email telling you of the situation. im sorry you feel that way but now your damaging my credibility on this site.

You should try putting your prices on line like I do and watch every Tom, Dick and Harry Cuemaker cut your prices by a few bucks. You don't have a deal in this business until you have the money in hand and then it does not mean that they won't try to change the deal after they have paid or want a refund after you have started the work.

Good Cuemaking,
