To those that have been able to try both:
Is there any discernible difference in Predator version 3 shafts (Z3, 314-3, Vantage) from the Version 2 shafts? If you've been able to try a couple of the new ones which do you like better and why and was the tip a factor?

. I liked the way the 3 hit. It was different is all I can say but not enough for me to lay down 3 hundred for a new shaft lol

I tried the vantage and was definitely different stiffer more forgiving but I agree not willing to lay down 300+ for a new shaft

I am with most people here...the 3 is mos def stiffer than the 2. I first tried it on my LE3 & Didn't know what to make of it. I first got the LE with the 314-2 then bought the 3 to test it out. Then I bought an 8K4, chose the 314-3 with no plans of using it becoz it was so so when I played with it on my LE3. Couldn't sell it at a price I wanted so ended up using it. To my surprise, I actually like it and I'm very happy with it. The tip is also better than the Everest becoz I think it plays fairly truer to what it is which is a Medium. The Everest feels like a Hard tip to me. I can also say that I like it better than my Mezz WX700...

I've played with gen 2 and 3 and I think getting a gen 3 is worth it.
Haven't tried the Vantage but have tried 314 and the Z-line which is my favorite. Crazy action on the cue ball at much slower hits than anything else out there - at least for me it is.
If you think it's expensive just set aside 50 bucks a month and then treat your self.

In terms of hit and deflection, 3rd gen is much better in my opinion. Tip is also a big factor. It affects hit and deflection.
