Predator z2 or Z3

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me the difference in play between the Z2 and Z3 shaft if any ? And I also noticed that the z3 is slightly thicker(11.85 vs 11.75) over the Z2. Is this going to make a huge difference ?

I have been shooting with a z2 for over 6 years now and I am due a new Shaft :p .

Just wanted to check with you guys and see if getting a z3 is any different or just similar to a z2 .

Hi Chai,


You're Z-2 is 6 years old and has worn down a little. Both shafts should have the same taper. Remember all shafts need some tolerance so allow some for the factory.

The Z3 has a patent pending Vault Plate, and incorporates a totally new design that is much stronger than all predecessors.

It's your decision, I really like the Z-3

The adjustment from the Z2 to the Z3 for me has been the most difficult. At first it's the Predator tip, I can't tell you rotten I think those are.
Switching up the tip was helpful, but not as much as I'd hoped. Even after having played for a while with the new Predator Revo I'd have to
say my favorite is still the Z2.

If you're looking to try out something new give the McDermott I3 a try. The taper and the tip are the same as the Z2, there's no real adjustment
or at least there really wasn't for me, to tell you the truth it just feels better. Sometimes even traveling between cities with the Predators the
climate will have an odd effect on the shaft,. They seem pretty sensitive to humidity and climate, I haven't found that to be any kind of issue with
the McDermott. I believe the McDermott to be more consistent.

However, between the Z2 and the Z3, I'd stick with the Z2. I think it's just better.

On predator's website, it says the Z2 tip diameter is 11.75mm and the Z3 is 11.85mm. So there is 0.1mm difference between the two.

You will love it, i played with z2 for several years and got a z3 last year
