I would like to purchase a good set of balls for home use and would like opinions on the "Pecking order" of pool ball manufacturers from best to least desired and why. Thanks for your input.

You can check out the billiard balls on my website, www.wholesalebilliardcues.com on my table at home I have Aramith premier balls, here is a little info on them, they are also used on some pro tourneys: Belgian SUPER ARAMITH PRO Pool Balls - For several decades, Belgian Aramith Pool balls have a legendary reputation for outstanding endurance and uncompromised quality. Used by almost 80% of the players worldwide, they are recognized as the reference of the industry.
Made by Saluc in Belgium, Aramith's excellence is the result of a high-tech process, that combines the unmatched characteristics of phenolic resin with fine Belgian craftsmanship.

Their consistently reliable performance guarantees players the pleasure of razor-sharp precision. Their exceptionally long product life offers the table owner the lowest ball cost on an annual basis.

That is how Aramith for almost half a century gained its legendary reputation as signature for true and unrivaled quality.

• Standard Size 2-1/4', 6 oz.
• High Tolerance Grade
• Genuine Aramith

Get good quality balls like the Aramith the poster above me said. Don't get fooled into buying heavier or lighter balls for training. The key learning good ball control is feeling the weight of the CB against your tip. Practicing with different weights or sizes can really mess up your game.

I just bought a new set of centennials, I prefer them to the aramiths I previously used on my table....... just my opinion

The Brunswick Centennials and the Aramith Super Pros are generally accepted as top of the line - quality on both is excellent, just depends on which style you prefer. I happen to prefer the Super Pro style over the Centennials, which seem a little "busy" to me. Personally, I wouldn't settle for anything less than one of these. I believe www.billiardsexpress.com currently has the Super Pros on sale.

I recently purchased a box of Aramith Super Pro TV balls (the one with the pink 4 ball) for around $80.00 at one of the Billiard Supplies stores here in Manila. The set I got was brand new.

Plays great...although, I seem to prefer my Brunswick Centennials.

But overall, whether Centennials or Super Pro's, they are both good.

I believe that they are the same balls if you get the arimith super pro. Both made by aramith, cosmetically different and the cb may be different.
